Each election cycle, on election day Frontier Regional School Technology teacher Kevin Murphy, and Government teacher Laura Moore Broadcast a LIVE broadcast covering the elections engaging students with community leaders in political discourse. This year we are pleased to have Representative Natalie Blais, Rep Jim McGovern, Deerfield select board member Trevor McDaniel & Whately Selectboard member Joyce Palmer-Fortune

Since 2008, the Frontier Regional School teamed up, biannually, with Frontier Community Access Television to produce a live television broadcast that covers the national and local elections, and ballot questions. It is an opportunity for students to engage in the political process in a hands-on way. The project is student run and included a broad scope of technology tools. The project highlights not only leadership and real-world civic engagement, but brings to the forefront age-appropriate discussion during a historically significant event in our national and local governments.

The project consisted of local exit polling all day at each of the four towns, a three-hour live television broadcast consisting of the issues, debate, interviews of local and state politicians, and local exit-polling data updates. The exit-poll data not only describes voting behavior by local towns, but also aims to include questions that are not on the ballot to gain insight into the voters in our region. Students who are not directly involved observe the process live on local cable channel and streaming online becoming engaged in peer conversation.
