The beer & broadband Roundtable series is a discussion series bringing together leaders in the broadband and infrastructure space to share their thoughts without egos, agendas, or selling.
In this clip, we discuss how NextLight is a community-owned fiber internet service. To date, they have built fiber into ~45,000 homes in Longmont, Colorado, and are ranked as the 3rd fastest internet provider in the US by PC Magazine. As a municipally-owned provider, not only do they compete with two-tier 1 providers, but have achieved 60% penetration within their market. Most recently, they completed their first 10 gig installation which was a success. The NextLight crew considers what's next, what makes them special, and their unique stance on hiring fiber technicians.
