Speech Update 2021

Описание: We finally have our speech update! Because our last speech appointment was September 2020, this was filmed in two sections - our reaction immediately after the speech appointment, and what the final decision/plan is.

Ava had her MRI in February 2021, and after meeting with her surgeon, we have decided to move forward with a buccal flap surgery on April 14th. It's both overwhelming (the anticipation of a surgery always gets to me), and exciting too. We think this will do a lot to fix Ava's nasality - and that will have a huge positive impact on her future. They expect it to be a 1-2 night hospital stay with a three week recovery period.

Watching clips of Ava that were taken 6 months apart is pretty incredible - she has grown up SO MUCH. I am so proud of the person she is - her bravery, her strength, and her huge heart.
