Additionally, the arena will see significant upgrades, including a new dehumidifier and LED lighting, largely funded by the NOHFC. Council also accepted provincial funding to develop a Community Improvement Plan focused on revitalizing the downtown core.
The most disappointing news of the evening was the confirmed closure of Trestle Ridge Ski Hill for the 2026 season. A "catastrophic" mechanical failure in the lift’s bearing was discovered early in the season. Because the repair requires specialized mechanics and the snow to clear, work cannot begin until spring.
