How to fix P0013 Code: “B” Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit/Open (Bank 1)
A P0013 code is set when the computer (ECM/PCM) detects that the voltage from the variable valve timing circuit has fallen out of specification for a calibrated amount of time.
Variable valve timing (VVT) is used in an engine to get more power and efficiency at different RPMS.
The VVT system consists of camshaft position actuators, VVT solenoids, and wiring.
Oil flows through the VVT system, so always be sure the oil level is good and not dirty.
Possible Causes of a P0013 Code:
VVT Control Wiring (Open/Short)
Bad Variable Valve Timing Actuator/Phaser
Failed VVT Solenoid
