The creative act—drawing, painting, writing—is what makes us human. It's the manifestation of that divine spark, whatever you believe gives it to us. When generative AI replaces the process of creating art, we lose something fundamental about being human. I use AI for productivity (emails, coding help, work tasks), but I won't use it to create anything meaningful.

What happens when kids grow up generating images instead of learning to draw? When they never feel called to pick up a paintbrush or a pen? The entry-level creative jobs are already disappearing—advertising, animation, commercial art—and those were pathways for people to make a living being creative.

I'm not saying don't use AI image generators if that's your thing. But consider: does prompting an AI feel the same as making something yourself? For me, it felt like using a cheat code in a video game—briefly exciting, then hollow.

My take: use AI to handle the inhuman work, the productivity stuff, the BS that eats up your day. Then use that freed-up time to create with your hands. Don't let the tools that could give us more time for creativity instead replace creativity entirely.
