A quick go at one of my favourite piano solos of all time. Jools improvised his 2 part solo over Matt Johnson's single Uncertain Smile, back in 82'. It was originally played on a Yamaha C3. In this take, I was playing over a Karaoke version; the keyboard being a Roland 300NX.
I asked Jools about this solo back in 2012 when I was lucky enough to meet him. He rode his Harley to Matt's studio, and laid it out in 3 takes. Later, when the record was released, Jools was dissapointed to find that his solo had been cut from the middle. He was later relieved when he heard an extended solo (the two conjoined) added to the end of the record.
I'd normally improvise my own take on a tune, but this is too fun not to play.
