In this video, the seventh in my series on AC Electricity, we uncover a special feature of series RLC circuits-- Resonance. We find interesting effects occur when we vary the frequency of our circuit. There exists a maximal current, that occurs at the resonant frequency-- the point where the reactances of our capacitor and inductor cancel out perfectly. We also clarify this peak in terms of its width, the bandwidth, and its quality factor. All this helps us design a frequency filter-- a circuit that takes in a range of input frequencies, but only lets a small range pass through.
This will be the last video in my series on AC electricity for now. I hope you enjoyed the series and found it helpful. If there is something you really want me to cover please leave it in the comments, as I may come back to it in the future.
