Snowshoeing Basics: Choosing Appropriate Footwear for Snowshoeing

Описание: As with any outdoor adventure, gear selection is often a highly personal matter. Choosing footwear for use when snowshoeing is no different. That said, I have found that certain types of footwear are more appropriate and functional than others when it comes to snowshoeing. In this video, I discuss the benefits and drawbacks of four different types of footwear that I’ve used over the years. They include:

• Hiking shoes
• Large snow boots
• Snowboarding boots
• Active snow hiking boots

There are obviously countless types of outdoor-specific footwear available. So, it would be impossible for me to cover them all in a ten minute video. But through my comparison and contrast of the above types of footwear, you should be able to make a reasonable choice when it comes to selecting the most appropriate type of footwear (for you) when snowshoeing.

I've produced this collection of articles and videos about backcountry travel and exploration with the beginner and intermediate adventurer in mind.
