Large diameter steel reinforced polyethylene corrugated pipe (SRCP) was developed by Goldstone based on existing polyethylene spiral corrugated pipe technology. Goldstones’s SRCP technology was researched and developed independently by Goldstone and Goldstone was issued patents for both the pipe and the machinery to produce these pipes. Goldstone’s SRCP is reinforced with high strength steel belts which are coated with a special material to provide both corrosion protection for the steel as well as to insure a strong bond to the polyethylene inner and outer pipe layers. The diameter of the pipe that can be produced using Goldstone’s state of the art SRCP technology ranges from 300 mm(12inch) to 3000 mm(120inch). The obvious advantage of this new composite pipe is the high stiffness and lower cost compared with the conventional buried plastic sewage pipe. Typical ring stiffnesses that can be achieved using the Goldstone SRCP technology range from SN8(63PSI) to SN20(158PSI), which far exceed the values possible with other plastic pipes.
