Priyanka Gandhi Counters Kiren Rijiju's Allegation, Says "Did Not Abuse Anyone"

Описание: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra rejected Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju’s allegation that she encouraged party MPs who allegedly misbehaved in Speaker Om Birla’s chamber. Rijiju had claimed that 20–25 Congress MPs entered the chamber, abused the Speaker and threatened the Prime Minister, and that senior leaders present did not intervene.

Responding to the charge, Priyanka Gandhi said no one was abused and termed Rijiju’s claim that she was “egging on” MPs a lie. She stated that while a few MPs were agitated, she was sitting quietly and later spoke peacefully to the Speaker. The row follows opposition protests over BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s remarks on former prime ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.
