Описание: A common thing I see when players are shooting a basketball is that both of their hands are level upon the ball being released. This can lead to two unwanted results: shooting a flat shot and short arming the shot, which affects the distance control.  This is a subtle cue but the basketball shooting tips I'll be sharing will focus on such details. I feel that focusing intensely on small details such as these are why I became an elite shooter, making 57% of my threes in one season and being the best shooter on my college team.

Basketball Shooting Tips: Shoot the Ball "Out"

I'm advocating for you to shoot the ball "out". By this I mean for you to really focus on the follow through with your shooting hand. Snapping the elbow will fix the short arming dilemma, which leads to inconsistent distance control and ultimately more misses.

By shooting the ball out your shooting hand will end up higher than your guide hand. This ensures that the ball's trajectory is at a higher arch. This means that there is more surface area for the ball. As a result there is a greater chance of the shot going in the basket.

By shooting out you also have less influence of your guide hand on the shot. If your guide hand was level with the shooting hand or if the thumb get involved in the shot there is a greater chance of the shot being missed left or right. This cue, although subtle will place the emphasis of your shot being from the shooting hand and letting the guide hand be simply that: a guide hand to help you hold the ball and get it in the shooting pocket.

I'll continue to share more elite basketball shooting tips. I plan on honing in on subtle details such as this so that you can have big results in your game. Focusing on one of these at a time will help you become a more successful shooter. Do not overlook these small details!!! They are everything. Be more concerned about the quality of each of these details rather than trying to accumulate 20 different tips on how to shoot better.
