Well I decided it was time to take the pup on his first ever hunt. I was kind of nervous, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. The first retrieve as you can see wasn't very good. I still wanted to put that in the video though because these are things that can happen with young dogs. Ace has seen hundreds of birds, but training and hunting are two completely different things! It takes some time getting a young dog used to hunting! There's a ton of factors that come into play. It's important to stay patient and calm during all of it.
After the first retrieve Ace smacked his second mark and I couldn't be prouder. He put together all the puzzle pieces. As you can see, I was pretty dang excited for that.
