POLICE WEEK in Washington, DC [a COP’s guide]

Описание: This is my first real attempt at a VLOG and I might as well have tried it on the most important few days for law enforcement officers. At the beginning of the year a group of officers at our agency decided to attend police week in Washington, DC. We lost a brother in the line of duty that was being honored at this year’s event and had officers assigned to escort his family during the week.

Those of us not on the escort detail wanted to pay respects and memorialize the event. When planning the trip, it wasn’t easy to find a lot of information on police week other than the schedule of events posted on the police week webpages.

I decided to make this video for two reasons. One, as a tribute to all law enforcement officers who have either lost their lives or lost someone they cared about in the line of duty. That portion will highlight the 2018 Law Enforcement Candlelight Vigil held at the National Mall. The second, and less important reason is to provide some information/insight in to the week’s events as they relate to law enforcement officers visiting DC during police week for the first time.

This is by no means all-encompassing and there are plenty of events/attractions that I missed – this is just #policeweek through my eyes.
