The ride from Leh to Khardung La was challenging but incredibly beautiful. We spent around 15-20 minutes at Khardung La Pass, enjoying the stunning mountain views and the fresh mountain air.

After a short snacks break at Khalsar village, we continued our journey to Nubra Valley. The valley was a wonderful experience, with its beautiful sand dunes, the peaceful Diskit Monastery, and the famous double-humped camels.

Khardung La Pass

Khardung La is a famous high-altitude mountain pass in Ladakh, India, located at an elevation of around 5,359 metres (18,000 feet). It is about 40 km from Leh and serves as a gateway to the beautiful Nubra and Shyok valleys. The mountain views from the pass are truly breathtaking.

Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley is a beautiful cold desert located around 120 km north of Leh. It is famous for its unique landscape, where sand dunes meet green villages and rivers, creating a stunning natural view. The valley is also known for its ancient monasteries and double-humped camels.

Hunder Sand Dunes

Hunder Sand Dunes are one of the main attractions of Nubra Valley. The golden sand dunes create a desert-like landscape surrounded by mountains. The highlight is seeing the rare double-humped Bactrian camels and enjoying camel rides across the dunes.

Diskit Monastery and Maitreya Buddha

Diskit Monastery is the oldest and largest monastery in Nubra Valley. It is famous for its beautiful location and the giant 108-foot statue of Maitreya Buddha. The peaceful atmosphere and amazing views make it a must-visit place in Ladakh.
