****Disclaimer when offering to work for free****:
While I recommend offering to assist a Stylist for free, as with everything there should be a limit to this. It depends on the type of project and the Stylist, but after the first few times assisting a Stylist it is ok to ask "is there a budget for compensation?" or "may I ask what the Assistant Day Rate is for this project?". Larger projects usually offer an Assistant day rate (pay rate).
