Former US President Bill Clinton has said he "did nothing wrong" and saw no signs of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse, in his opening statement to US lawmakers about his relationship with the convicted paedophile.
Clinton is testifying in a closed-door deposition in Chappaqua, New York, which marks the first time a former president has been compelled to testify to members of Congress.
“I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong,” the former Democratic president said in a statement he shared on social media.
It came a day after his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, sat with lawmakers for her own deposition.
Hillary Clinton also denied any knowledge of Epstein's crimes and said she had never met him.
