Yarn Town Workshops Presentation
APPLYING ADVANCED FORMATTING TO OBJECTS
PROJECT STEPS
1. As the owner of Yarn Town Craft Store, a yarn boutique in Seattle that sells yarns, crafting materials, and also runs workshops, you create a presentation that provides customers with information about the crafting workshops. Begin by intensifying the impact of the picture on the title slide as follows:
a. Change the brightness and contrast of the picture to Brightness: +20%, Contrast: 0% (Normal).
b. Change the Color Tone of the picture to Temperature: 8800 K.
2. With the title slide still displaying, convert the text "Yarn Town Workshops" to a WordArt object, and then format the object as follows:
3. With the title slide still displaying, insert the audio clip file Support_PPT19_3b_HappyMusic.mp3, and then modify it as follows:
4. On Slide 2 ("OUR WORKSHOPS"), click "OUR WORKSHOPS", open and use the Selection Pane to select Group 3 (the red and yellow sun shape), and then modify the sun shape as follows:
5. With Slide 2 ("OUR WORKSHOPS") still displaying, add more suns as follows:
6. On Slide 3 ("UPCOMING WORKSHOPS"), delete the SmartArt diagram.
7. With Slide 3 still displaying, insert a new SmartArt diagram as follows:
8. With Slide 3 ("UPCOMING WORKSHOPS") still displaying, continue to build and format the SmartArt diagram:
9. On Slide 4 ("KNITTING WORKSHOPS"), modify the picture of the yarn and knitting needles:
a. Copy the picture and paste it.
b. Change the color of the copied picture to Orange, Accent color 2 light (3rd row, 3rd column in the recolor palette).
c. Move the copied picture so that it appears just to the left of the first picture as shown in Figure 4.

10. On Slide 5 ("CROCHET WORKSHOPS"), change the picture to Support_PPT19_3b_Crochet.jpg and then format the picture as follows:
a. Change the Color Saturation of the picture to 400%.
b. Sharpen the picture by 50%.
11. With Slide 5 ("CROCHET WORKSHOPS") still displaying, modify the heart shape as follows:
a. Change the heart shape to a Smiley Face shape.
b. Fill the Smiley Face shape with Red, Accent 1 (1st row, 5th column).
c. Add the alt text in the description area for the Smiley shape as follows:

12. On Slide 6 ("WORKSHOP ATTENDANCE"), modify the bar chart as follows:
a. Change the number of Knitting workshops in Qtr 2 to 37.
b. Add Workshop Attendees as the chart title.
c. Add a legend to the bottom of the chart.
d. Apply the Style 7 chart style.
e. Change the colors of the chart to Monochromatic Palette 1.
13. On Slide 7 ("NEEDLEWORK WORKSHOPS"), enhance the text "All Levels Welcome" as follows:
a. Apply the Glow: 5 point; Red, Accent color 1 text effect (1st column, 1st row).
b. Apply the Tight Reflection: Touching text effect.
c. Apply Bold formatting to the text.
d. Move the text so that the bottom is even with the bottom of the picture.
14. With Slide 7 ("NEEDLEWORK WORKSHOPS") still displaying, apply the Mosaic Bubbles artistic effect to the picture.
15. On Slide 8 ("POPULARITY"), insert a pie chart using the content placeholder and the data in Table 1. Delete any extra rows and columns.

16. With Slide 8 ("POPULARITY") still displaying, modify the pie chart as follows:
a. Update Workshops by Popularity as the chart title and position above the chart.
b. Add data labels at the Best Fit position.
c. Apply the Subtle Effect—Gold, Accent 3 (4th column, 4th row) shape style to the data labels.
d. Change the font size of the data labels to 24 point.
17. Enhance the last slide in the presentation with a WordArt object as follows:
a. Move the WordArt object "Get Crafty!" into the white space above the picture so that it appears centered between the left and right edges of the slide and the top of the slide and the top of the picture.
b. Change the text fill color to Red, Accent 1, Darker 25% (5th column, 5th row).
c. Change the text outline to No Outline.
d. Apply the Perspective: Relaxed Moderately 3-D Rotation effect.
e. Apply the Half Reflection: 4 point offset effect.
