I test rode the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V2S this Wednesday 9th April 2025 at Ducati, Coventry.
Firstly, let me say that I am not a professional tester, this is an enjoyable hobby for me and I’m just attempting to provide a ‘normal’ riders assessment, that might help others to make a choice.
I’m not being paid by Ducati in any way, I booked the test ride to assess whether this could be my next touring bike choice, as I try to find a lighter option that my current 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro.
For context, I’m 5’11’, 12.5 stone with 31” inner leg.
Be aware that this Ducati was fitted with a number of optional accessories from Evotech Performance that are not standard equipment.
The build quality of the V2S is very high; the new engine/gearbox/up and down quick-shifter are a sublime combination. The TFT screen is clear, it’s easy to navigate the screen options via the left-hand rocker switch and the font size of the numerals used, is great for those of us with older eyes!
In my opinion, the brakes are strong and with the EOM Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres, they felt ready for some fast alpine roads. For me, the comfortable riding position, feels similar to many other ‘adventure-style’ bikes currently offered, I found it to be a very natural fit. The only question mark over touring comfort, might be the rather thin (unheated) riders seat but a longer ride would be necessary to fully understand whether it’s ‘all-day’ comfortable, or not!
Again, for me, the screen in its highest position, provided very little buffeting at 60-70mph main road speeds. The wind will chill your hands, if the hand guards are not ideally positioned, and the wind clipped my shoulders a little…overall, the best I’ve recently ridden compared with my Triumph, which is pretty good! The Ducati screen in its lower position, provided a good stream of fresh air to my chest and helmet. The 19 litre tank of the V2S is a good touring size, especially when compared against the 15.5 litres of the BMW F900XR!
In summary, this is a high quality motorcycle, although nearer the top of the price point for this engine-sized bike. Therefore, there are cheaper options from other manufactures in the current financial climate…but I would strongly encourage you to test this model if you have the slightest interest. I was amazed by the power and flexibility of this new engine. The reassuring chassis response through twisty corners gave me the confidence to push on, so, the V2S gets a big Thumbs Up from me and my finances are probably going to get a good spanking in the coming months…watch this space!
I should give a shout out and thanks to the sales team, Maria & Craig @ Ducati Coventry. A friendly, helpful team with a large stock of Ducati’s, including some really special models for you to choose from.
