Tamuno! A Kalabari folk worship song from the Niger Delta, expressing gratitude to God.
Both “Tamuno” and “Ayiba” mean “God” in Ijaw dialects, repeated here as a heartfelt cry of thanksgiving:
“You’ve done so much, I cannot tell it.”
This arrangement made me very emotional, I almost shed a tear.
Arranged for string orchestra by Ndudirim Stanley and presented under Sound of Virtue, this version blends the soul of African folk worship with the calm and refreshing lushness of orchestral sound.
