Emmanuel Hovhannisyan is a world-renowned, award-winning duduk player, composer, and educator. A graduate of the Yerevan State Conservatory of Komitas , he has established himself as a versatile artist in both the Armenian and world music scenes.

After lecturing at the Yerevan Conservatory and various educational institutions across Europe, Emmanuel relocated to Los Angeles in 2021 and worked at UCLA. He is now a professor at Glendale Community College and teaches duduk lessons at his own Dudukman Studio.

As a composer, Emmanuel creates innovative multi-style music for both classical duduk and the bass duduk—an instrument of his own invention.

He is the founder of the "Sheram" ensemble and "Emmanuel Hovhannisyan & Emotion Band."

Emmanuel has graced prestigious stages worldwide, performing as both a soloist and a member of renowned orchestras and ensembles. He serves as the principal duduk player for the Armenian State Orchestra of National Instruments, a solo player in the Naghash Ensemble of Armenia, and the lead duduk player for the Gurdjieff Folk Instruments Ensemble. Notably, he collaborated on the production of the Ensemble's CDs (German ECM Records).

Emmanuel founded Dudukman Production, which hosted the first international duduk festival and various concerts and cultural events. His latest initiative is a unique concert in Los Angeles celebrating the duduk across different genres—folk, classical, and jazz. This event will bring together generations of duduk players and talented musicians from other genres, showcasing the duduk as a symbol of Armenian music.
