Traditional Ethiopian Beer
Tella is a traditional Ethiopian beer brewed from various grains, typically Teff and sorghum. Barley, wheat, or maize may be used too depending on the region and fermented hops is added to the mix. Drinking Tella is a social activity where locals hang out and engage in conversations. it is common to make it from their houses, usually if not always, by the women. In this video, we show a local woman as we were passing by their neighborhood during our trip. She was happy to show us the process as she was making a new batch of brew!
