HKBU held its 2026 New Year’s Day Flag-raising Ceremony on campus this morning. Led by Dr the Hon Kennedy Wong Ying-ho, Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU, approximately 200 members of the HKBU community attended the ceremony, including Mr Kevin Liem, Treasurer of the Council and the Court of HKBU; Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor; and other members.

In his address, Dr Wong remarked on the University’s significant achievements in 2025:

✅ The first Chinese medicine hospital of Hong Kong, operated by HKBU, commenced phased operations.
✅ The Jockey Club Campus of Creativity was officially opened in March 2025.
✅ HKBU launched a number of new transdisciplinary programmes and transdisciplinary second majors, as well as general education in artificial intelligence.
✅ The School of Continuing Education celebrated its 50th anniversary.
✅ The BNBU celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Dr Wong reaffirmed HKBU’s commitment to aligning with the strategic direction of the National 15th Five-Year Plan, contributing to the Nation’s grand vision of building a leading country in education, and enhancing the global appeal of the “Study in Hong Kong” brand. He also highlighted that HKBU will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year, with a series of exciting celebration events upcoming.

With a new year comes new aspirations—let us stride forward together and create more proud and inspiring chapters for HKBU!

浸大今早於校園舉行2026年元旦日升旗儀式。浸大校董會暨諮議會主席黃英豪博士帶領浸大社群，包括校董會暨諮議會司庫林子傑先生等成員、校長衞炳江教授等，約200人出席。

黃博士在致辭中回顧大學在過去一年的成果，包括：
✅由浸大營運的香港首間中醫醫院已分階段投入服務；
✅「賽馬會創意校園」於去年3月正式啟用；
✅開辦多個新的跨學科課程及跨學科第二主修，以及人工智能通識教育；
✅持續教育學院慶祝成立金禧；
✅北師香港浸會大學20周年校慶。

黃博士表示，浸大將繼續緊扣國家《十五五規劃綱要》的戰略脈搏，積極貢獻國家「教育強國」的宏偉藍圖，同時推動「留學香港」品牌的吸引力與影響力。他亦提到浸大將於明年迎來70周年校慶，舉辦一系列精彩慶祝活動。
