The Tree Zone took root of our first vote, claiming two-thirds of the overall tally with 16 selections. Our other two choices finished with 5 and 3 votes respectively.

I won't complain about the Tree Zone finishing first since it is the best place to begin one's journey here in Mario Land. The stages don't have much in the way of perilous platforming or annoying enemies once you figure out what they are anyway. There are also plenty of chances to earn yourself extra lives as you go about tackling this tree. It all sounds good, right?

Well, it is outside of when I started to do my usual translation stuff. Some names were used in our instruction booklet back in 1992, but others weren't. That leaves me with a mishmash of trying to figure out what's what. I always go with the name that sounds better in my mind. That beehive level, man. That place was a thing that annoyed me. Ha-ha! Buichi, by the way, is a combo of a sound a pig makes and bee since he's a real piggy. Ah, Japanese puns. I can dig it.

Anyhoo, I'm going for a different style on these videos with the text. You might've noticed that the font is larger than usual, but I'll also be taking longer breaks between boxes in spots to let the game do the talking for once. SML2 is an easy game outside of a couple of stages, and I wanted to do this one differently with longer projects on the horizon. It's sure making editing easier, so I hope you enjoy the change of pace for once.
