Bal-A-Vis-X is a program of 200+ exercises that was developed in the late 90s by Bill Hubert, a teacher and martial arts instructor. Through 20 years of research and connecting dots, Hubert felt it was important that students have fundamental balance and rhythm capabilities. He taught them basic physical skills such as throwing and catching. Over time, he observed many instances where students who improved their balance and rhythm also saw academic improvement.
Balboa has been using it for about 10 years. It was first implemented by a special education teacher but has been expanded into general education. Several teachers have been trained and actively use it in their classrooms.
