From FOBBV: "This afternoon at 14:06:25 a juvenile (1st year) bald eagle landed on the edge of the nest, Shadow quickly shooed it away. The juvenile then landed just below the nest. Jackie came in, there was a small altercation, and the juvenile went on its way.

Being a first year bald eagle, could it be Sunny or Gizmo? Sure it could be, the eagle didn't appear to be banded. Though please know that there are many bald eagles hatched in Southern California as well as the surrounding areas. This eagle could be one of many that visit the Big Bear Valley.

Though it might have been difficult for some to see and hear, just know Jackie and Shadow did exactly what they are supposed to do. They are protecting their habitat and nest as they prepare for a new season of eggs and eaglets. "
