Opening Prayers of the People (and the Lord's Prayer) - Worship Reader
(please use the wording for the Our Father that brings you closest to God)
Gracious and loving Divine,
We pray knowing there is no dividing “them” to pray for God. There is only “us” and “ours” for we are one Body in Christ. We lift up hunger for food that fills and feeds our physical forms, thirst for clean water, vulnerability to abuse, imprisonment, \addictions and struggles with addictions, \broken hearts, souls filled with loss, and lives lived in fear. We lift up emotional and psychological struggles, we lift up struggles with comparative ability, and we lift up our bodies and the desire to judge the worth of ourselves and others based on those bodies.
Receive, heal, and make whole, O God. These are our prayers, together with those that lie on the hearts of all your people. Hear us now as we pray in Christ’s Spirit, saying:

Our Creator, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever, Amen.

*Musical Response “Gloria Patri”
Glory be to the Father
and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost,
as it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen, amen.

Scripture- John 17:6-19

Sermon- “sanctified in truth”

Hymn of Preparation “Softly and Tenderly” (Chalice Hymnal #340)
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
patient and loving, he's waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
ye who are weary, come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, "O sinner, come home!"

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
pleading for you and for me?
Why should we wait, then, and heed not his mercies,
mercies for you and for me?
Come home, come home,
ye who are weary, come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, "O sinner, come home!"

O for the wonderful love he has promised,
promised for you and for me;
tho' we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
pardon for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
ye who are weary, come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, "O sinner, come home!"

Communion Elders:

*Prayer of Thanksgiving
ALL: God of life, as we give thanks to you for all of your gifts to us in Christ Jesus and through the bread and cup. Send forth your Holy Spirit upon us and through the bread and the cup may we be remade and renewed in Christ’s image. Open our hearts to serve you and the world in Christ’s enduring love..We pray these things: through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ, O God, now and forever. Amen.

Hymn of Thanksgiving “One Bread, One Body” (Chalice Hymnal #393)
One bread, one body, one Lord of all, one cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many, throughout the earth, we are one body in this one Lord.

Gentile or Jew, servant or free, woman or man no more.
One bread, one body, one Lord of all, one cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many, throughout the earth, we are one body in this one Lord.

Many the gifts, many the works, one in the Lord of all.
One bread, one body, one Lord of all, one cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many, throughout the earth, we are one body in this one Lord.

Grain for the fields, scattered and grown, gathered to one for all.
One bread, one body, one Lord of all, one cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many, throughout the earth, we are one body in this one Lord.

The Celebration of Gifts
....This is Rev. Stout. Our congregation recently experienced a death that we needed to spend some time mourning together. The public part of our worship ended as we entered a time of remembrance and gratitude. Thank you for your grace and respecting the privacy of that moment.-Seth
