The Baron then relates his encounter with Ciri, thrusting us into her first flashback: The King of the Wolves. While on the run, Ciri came across a young girl named Gretka and decided to escort her home. This path led them to a violent encounter with a powerful werewolf, whom Ciri successfully defeats, sustaining an injury in the process. The grateful locals take Ciri to the only safe place they know—the Baron's fort—setting up her story arc and linking her fate directly to Geralt's current, grim investigation.
