Incorrect coiling of cables reduces the life of your cable, and is super frustrating for the next person who uses that equipment.. I will show you the over under technique which is used by many AV professional. This is the technique taught and recommend to my event technicians within my outdoor movie business.

Cables we coil are XLR, sometime referred to as mic cables. This method can be used on nearly all AV cables you use (sdi, hdmi etc).
