Genesis 4 isn’t just about what Cain did to Abel.
It’s about the warning God gave before harm happened.
God tells Cain that sin is crouching at the door—
that he still had a choice.
And this is why Grandpa recorded the entire Bible for us.
He understood that when grief hits,
when confusion sets in,
when voices get loud and truth gets twisted—
we need something steady.
He didn’t record opinions.
He didn’t record explanations.
He recorded God’s Word.
Because this is exactly how harm entered Iman’s life.
Not all at once.
Not violently at first.
But through isolation that was called protection.
Through control that was called care.
Through silence that was disguised as love.
Iman asked to come home.
He asked for his wife.
He asked for his children.
And instead of listening, people chose authority over obedience to God,
and control over compassion.
So when isolation starts to look like protection,
when control starts to sound like love,
and when silence is disguised as care—
we return to the Word and remember the warning.
Genesis 4 teaches us that harm doesn’t begin with violence.
It begins when people stop listening to God
and start listening to their own desires for control.
Grandpa wanted us to hear God’s voice clearly—
not filtered through pain,
not rewritten by people,
but preserved exactly as it was given.
Because God’s Word reminds us:
We are our brother’s keeper.
We are responsible for one another.
And love never requires isolation.
