As European troops serving under the European Union Training Mission in Mali prepare to leave the Malian territory, from as early as next week, the Commander of the mission Brigadier General Santiago Ortiz Repiso, paid a visit to the Malian Chief of Staff of the General Armies, that's Division General Oumar Diarra on the Friday of May 10th 2024, to bid him farewell.
According to an update by the Malian Armed Forces, their meeting was a prelude to the end of mission ceremony of the EUTM, that's scheduled to be held on May 17 in Bamako, and the two Generals met to say goodbye and present each other with symbolic gifts by way of recognition.
