It is vital that we know the status of our setters:
First Clue: I will give you these. The server is the setter for our team on the left. The receiving team is in Rotation 2.
Second Clue: On the overpass, our setter on the left attacks the ball. Notice that barely jumps on the attack. She is aware that she is a back row player in the front zone.
Third Clue: After attacking the ball, our setter retreats to her normal defensive position near the attack line close to the right sideline.
The setter attacks the ball that is very close to being above the height of the net. However, the ball is not completely above the height of the net.
On close plays such as these, we would like our First Referee to give an Informal Safe Signal to inform everyone that the Back Row Attack is legal. This is helpful for these situations:
1. Back row setters attacking the ball in the front zone.
2. Back row players attacking the ball in the front zone.
3. Libero attacks
