Описание: I decided to make a black spinel ring at the request of an acquaintance.
I initially thought, “This should take about an hour.”

I sourced the black spinel and tried to drill it, but the drill bit simply wouldn’t bite. Since there was no other option, I decided to make the ring core slightly thinner using metalworking techniques. Even then, the spinel still wouldn’t fit onto the core properly.

After several hours, I chose a different approach and gradually shaved down the core little by little. The construction itself is extremely simple, yet it took an unexpectedly long time.

The original request was for a double-band ring, but this time I ended up making a single-band ring. At some point during the process, I unconsciously cut the double-band structure and turned it into a single one. It felt as if my body followed an inner voice saying, “I can’t go any further.”

Next time, I will make the ring core thinner from the beginning so the work can proceed more smoothly. The estimated production time is four minutes. No—more realistically, about an hour.

Flower Jem is moving in a direction where I basically do not edit videos. As a result, the channel will end up streaming unnecessarily long videos. I personally understand that this is not very considerate to viewers, but I made this decision in order to secure time for making pearl jewelry.

That said, a completely unedited recording from the very beginning to the very end of the making process is rare in itself, so I think it might be interesting in its own way.
If it were me, I would definitely not watch it.
