Music Makers of Nepal is a compilation album featuring some of the most accomplished and renowned classical, fusion and folk musician of Nepal. Composed and arranged in a duet format, similar to the eastern classical concept of ‘Jugalbandi’, this album fuses a wide variety of instruments, styles and musicians, some paired together and recorded for the first time. Twenty of Nepal’s most skilled and versatile artists came together to compose and record this ground breaking first release from the Kathmandu Music Center label. Encompassing a board variety of styles and genres such as modern folk, blues, light classical and jazz, this album is groovy, moody and distinctly Nepalese blend of world music and ethno - fusion.

Kathmandu Music Center (KMC) is a pioneering music label and production house based in Kathmandu and established by Sanjay Kumar Rauniyar in 2006. A devoted and genuine music connoisseur, Sanjay founded KMC with the purpose of releasing and promoting new forms of music ranging from classical to jazz and new strains of folk and contemporary cross-cultural fusion. Collaborating with Nepal's most renowned and skilled musicians from all musical genres, KMC has been experimental in releasing some of the most unique and notable albums in the Nepalese music scene. To date, KMC has produced music CDs, and video DVD's (documentaries about the heritage & geography of Nepal, folk music & dance, festivals and live classical fusion concerts).
