Across the Delaware I see the Victor Talking Machine plant site. That site has grown smaller and smaller over the years. Today the building with the tower was once the cabinet factory, today it is condos. Also the office building I mentioned was known as bld 2. That building held all of the corporate offices and meeting rooms. On it's top floor a number of recordings were made The 1916 Red Seal recordings of the last Caruso Lucia Sextet and Rigoletto Quartet recordings were made on the top floor of the office building along with some of the early recordings of the Philadelphia Orchestra ..
The battleship New Jersey is birthed in Camden across from the city she was built in. I was involved in doing some clean up and repair to the battleship back in 2000. Also made some recordings on the ship with some of her plank owners and others later that year. Nothing like walking around a ship with those who were on it.
The Cruiser Olympia ..The only survivor of the all new steel navy of the 1890's I have taken several tours over the last 25 years or so of the ship. This is a ship that needs a lot of help. If you can help them do so.
At the pier in the far distance the USS United States.. It was the Blue Ribbon holder in 1952 to the present day. Today the 65 year old ship is in very rough shape. If I had my choice as to which to help...The USS United States or the 1890's Olympia...I would lean to the Olympia as it's history is special and there are no other ships like it.
Повторяем попытку...
