This was included on the end of a video of other programmes I traded with someone back in 2001, so thank you to them. Very ropey quality with several dropouts - it's several video generations down! - but a fascinating look at how ATV, the ITV region for the midlands until December 1981, would start the day. My guess is that it's from near the end of the channel's life, Central replaced it in January 1982.
This and other old presentation used to do the rounds on videotapes long before websites and YouTube existed, so someone somewhere has this in higher quality - maybe even the original recording.
