Walking tour of the Ramparts in Antibes

Описание: I was in Antibes (well near there) for a research conference. I had just enough time after the conference and before I was meeting with my research group for dinner to squeeze in a walk. It was hot and sunny and everything that France should be. The sea was blue and there were so many yachts at anchor. Although I didn’t get it on this video, I did actually see Project X! (short coming soon)

I started at

I love this sculpture. There is something about the lase like steel letters and the human form that is evocative. I always come here to take in the view. They light it up at night too and on this trip, there was some sort of a pop-up restaurant/bar here. I didn’t get anything but in the evening the lights and music added to the atmosphere.

After the dock walk, we walked past:

To take a short stroll through old town before returning to the ramparts. This trip I didn’t manage to film a walk around old town, but hopefully I’ll be back and again next year. The view along the ramparts is stunning, the old wall which allows you to take in the sea as well as peaking down the little alleys of old town, make this place special. The city has put up several sculptures, miniature gardens, and places to stop and enjoy the view. It is no wonder that so many people come here and head out in the evening for a walk along the sea. When ever I’m here, I do the same.

After wandering past the sculptures, castle, and pretty houses it was time for dinner. We ate at:

My salad was very tasty, but unfortunately, they were out of what I ordered and the replacement dish they suggested was not very special. By the time we finished dinner it was dark and I checked out the Antibes sky line and of course the Nomade at night.
