मेघालय के बर्नीहाट में मौजूद एक एथेनॉल प्लांट को लेकर सोशल मीडिया पर एक वीडियो तेजी से वायरल हुआ। इस वीडियो में दावा किया गया कि प्लांट की चिमनी से लगातार धुआं निकल रहा है और फैक्ट्री की वजह से इलाके में भारी प्रदूषण फैल रहा है। वीडियो बनाने वाले एक यूट्यूबर ने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि एथेनॉल प्लांट आसपास के लोगों की सेहत के लिए खतरा बन रहे हैं। वीडियो वायरल होने के बाद लोगों के बीच चिंता बढ़ गई। लेकिन जिस प्लांट का वीडियो दिखाया गया था, उसे चलाने वाली कंपनी UDPL ने इन सभी आरोपों को पूरी तरह गलत और भ्रामक बताया है। कंपनी का कहना है कि वायरल वीडियो में पूरी सच्चाई नहीं दिखाई गई और लोगों को गलत जानकारी देकर भ्रम फैलाया गया।
