I had so much fun dyeing those ankle socks (Dye Time #160    • Dye Time #160: Ice Dyeing Socks, Dye Under...  , Dye Time #161    • Dye Time #161: Tie Dyeing A Rainbow T-Shir...  , Dye Time #163    • Dye Time #163: Ice Dyeing Socks, Dye Over ...  , Dye Time #165    • Dye Time #165: Bag Dyeing Socks, Bread Bag...   and Dye Time #167    • Dye Time #167: Tie Dyeing Socks, Liquid Dy...  ) that I bought another pack of socks to dye. This time I accidentally bought socks that were 74% viscose instead of cotton socks. Viscose is a man made fibre from wood pulp and it take up dye amazingly. In Dye Time #127 (   • Dye Time #127: Ice Dyeing Cotton Fabric wi...  ) I used nebula navy and turquoise fibre reactive dyes from Dharma to dye a cotton swatch. I love this combination but wanted more turquoise, so I tried this combination again in this video. I still need to get the balance right as I still feel I used too much nebula navy.

Fibre reactive dyes can be used on plant based fibre and animal based fibres. Acid dyes can only be used on animal based fibres.
