What if the power puff girls were nothing but a mere figment of Professor Utonium’s imagination and did not exist in reality?! As you know, the Powerpuff Girls are three little superheroes with extraordinary powers. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are the result of a scientific experiment gone wrong (courtesy of Mojo Jojo, assistant to Professor Utonium). In the original show, we see Professor Utonium mixing sugar, spice, and everything nice, just like in the old nursery rhyme. However, he ends up cracking the nearby Florence flask holding Chemical X, which spills into the concoction and creates an explosion. As a result, the three girls are born. Or are they?
What if there's more to their creation than meets the eye? What if their origins are not what we thought? What if the Professor created the Powerpuff Girls not as a scientific experiment but as a way to cope with his grief?
