POLICE: Vehicle almost crashes into home after reports of shots fired, South Sacramento

Here is what we know so far: Just before 2 A.M. Wednesday, the Sacramento Fire Department, Sacramento Police Department and California Highway Patrol (due to possible jurisdiction discrepancy), responded to reports of a vehicle into a structure in the area of Fruitridge Road and 49th Street. Additional information came in, according to police radio traffic, that shots were fired in the area.
When officers arrived, they found a power pole completely sheared at the base, and a vehicle on its side, up against the home on the corner, but not into the home.
There was a significant amount of debris across the roadway, including tires and a street lamp down. The occupant(s) of the vehicle fled the scene.
We have no additional information at this time and will update as information comes available from the Sacramento Police Department.
