He visits Gochang, known for the food of the sea and especially eels; Jangsu, surrounded by the mountains and the cradle of vegetarian dishes made of wild herbs and plants; and Gunsan, noted for the food of the land, to experience the barley culinary tour and Korea's modern history. Traveling to Jeolla-do Province, the heart and soul of Korean cuisine, Richard Kalvar discovers the real Korea through the flavors and stories discovered during the culinary tour.
