Описание: Cases of ALS are on the rise. Researchers say they could increase by 10 to 20% over the next decade. May is ALS Awareness Month, and our doctor, Frank McGeorge, is here to take a closer look at the potential causes and an issue that's limiting important research. ALS is a devastating, fatal neurologic disease that causes a person to lose the ability to move and speak progressively. The director of the University of Michigan's ALS "Center of Excellence" says cases are likely being undercounted because reporting isn't mandatory in every state. That hurts the research into causes and treatments.
