Heart Disease has been found to be more common in South Asians. There are various reasons for this include genetic and environmental reasons which are discussed in the video.

Dr Sujay Chandran is a Consultant Cardiologist practicing at Kingston and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts. He has over a decade of experience in interventional and general cardiology. He sees private patients at Spire St Anthony's Hospital, New Victoria Hospital, Heartsure Cardiology Clinic and London Bridge Hospital. Dr Chandran gained his primary medical qualification at the University of London in 2006, after which he undertook his specialist cardiology training in various renowned London Hospitals. He then studied towards his Medical Doctorate at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where he researched the molecular mechanisms that contribute to heart attacks. Dr Chandran also continued his specialist interventional cardiology training at the Royal Sussex County and St Thomas' Hospitals. Upon completion of his UK cardiology training, he was awarded a fully funded interventional Cardiology fellowship at McMaster University, Canada, and was subsequently appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Western Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, where he was a consultant for five years before moving to his current post.
