I ONLY ATE DUCK! A Whole Day of Eating In China's Duck Capital: Nanjing, China

Описание: An uncanny love for duck. Before coming to Nanjing, I thought Beijing was China’a duck capital, but after spending time in Nanjing, I think I may have to reconsider!

I started the day off at a popular roast duck stand. Now unlike Beijing this roast duck is made for grab and go. So I walked up got some roast duck, the prized head and found a spot to chow down! This duck may not look as good as Beijing duck, but I promise you the taste rivals it!

After this, I head to a popular restaurant that I would explain as the Din Tai Fung of Nanjing. You can find these everywhere in Nanjing and major cities in China. I got to try what they are famous for their Duck blood soup which is a locals favorite. You can see them indulge in this dish all year and any time of the day. I also couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to eat roasted duck soup dumplings!

My last meal was at the nicest restaurant I have ever been to. I went to the Nanjing Hotel at their Plum Garden to eat one of the best Salted Ducks I have ever had and apparently is one of the best in Nanjing. Unbelievably, moist, tender, and just made me feel like I was eating something from my dreams.

Lastly, I went for something sweet. This time for some duck fat filled sweet pastries! I tried three sweet flavors, each were rich, flaky, and just divine.

I must say, this truly is a duck obsessed city. Having not known much about it before I am so happy at the opportunities I had here to feel like a local and partake in the duck craze!
