It was a perfectly natural mistake for men to make....

The Wall was the only artifact left of the ancient Martians, filled with images that told the story of their doom.
...or so the humans thought.

This story was researched and transcribed by your humble narrator, and is now available both as a narration on here and as a free ebook for the world to enjoy:

This narration was recorded in 2026.

About the author:
Charles Dudley Dye (1925-1960) is another of the golden era authors about whom there is relatively little information to be found any longer. It seems he only published a handful of stories and a single novel in a short span of time between 1950 and 1953. Remarkably, all his science fiction output was in the very same years as his marriage to notable SF author Katherine MacLean. It is known that several of the stories bearing his name actually were written by her. Coincidence?

Stories of Futures Past presents a vintage Science Fiction short story, narrated by myself, Tom Trussel. An actual, real living human being, warts and all.
Any and all voices and effects are produced live during reading with my actual voice. No obnoxious after effects, synthetic voices or filters used.
English is not my first language, inaccurate accents and the occasional strange pronunciation will happen. No mockery is intended.
These stories are good for English learners / ESL. The full text is right there on the screen in a big and easy to read font. Read along with me. It's great practice!
