Not just cheaper and easier than wood forms, but better.
Find out how to make forms that require no additional hardware, paint, clamps, or supplies. Just put them together. Won't rot, shrink, swell, etc. Just keep working on and on. Don't even need any oil, the forms just peel off easily. No banging with a hammer or trying to force a pin out of a hinge. Cleanup is minimal, and mostly optional.
This video shows how to make them in primitive conditions. Only two power tools needed to make basically watertight aircrete forms. If you have a shop, that is even better. Goes much faster with a table saw and table router, and can be made with production line precision.
but that is not what this video is about. Its about being able to achieve good results under poor conditions. Aircrete is a medium that is most often used in remote locations where electricity, supplies, and even a flat area to set your forms may be hard to come by.
