Below are the places which we have covered on our 7th day of the Spiti Tour. Hope you will enjoy this episode. Date of Journey - 3rd July 2021.

Morning 5 am, we visited a petrol pump which is said to be located on world’s highest point.

Another thing is that near this petrol pump, there are 5 stupa, during 5 to 6 am local people of the village do parikrama around this stupa. There is also a monastery which was closed at that time. It gets open 8am to 9 am.

We went to riverside, it took us 15 min to reach the river, on way to riverside, it was picturesque, you would want to spend 1 hour there.

There is also Himachal tourism hotel, starting tariff - Rs 2350 double occupancy. There is also a cottage - Rs 3450, breakfast & dinner is included.

Civil hospital in kaza, tourists usually faces problems because of high altitude, 10:00 am to 4 pm OPD after that emergency. Generally what happens, tourist may have headache or nose bleeding, always visit the doctor, In such situation, oxygen levels drops suddenly, which could be dangerous. Another important point is to remember, must be followed by tourist is to drink lot of water.

We did breakfast at Taste of spiti - Tirik bread Sandwich (tibetan bread, thicker as compare usual size) made like usual sandwich, how we used to make at our home - Tomato, Onion, Cucumber with Cheese, only difference is of bread - Rs 200

Samosa - Shape was broader as compare to usual samosa, stuffing of black peas, their own masala, served with spicy chutney.

Shake - it contains, Sattu with chocolate. Taste was good


There is only 1 SBI ATM in Kaza, there is no cash on saturday & sunday. ATM cash withdraw time is limited morning 8 am to 8 pm. It is very important for the tourist to carry enough cash with you while travelling on this route. As there are not enough options for your withdraw cash.

In kaza or in this spiti route you have challenges of Unstable mobile network, if you are dependent on the online payments, then you may face lot of problems, its better to carry enough cash with you.

Key monastery - 14 km from the market, it is the oldest monastery of Spiti Valley.

Chicham bridge - 13596 ft - Asia’s highest bridge, built across a small river, Length of this bridge is approx - 80 metres, (8 km distance from Key monastery) built in 2017.

Then we proceed to Kibber, small village, 400 people population, Many tourists who are interested in wildlife visit in Jan to mar, red fox, snow leopard, 7 days homestay, walk with locals.
Jun to 15th september - Prangla pass, kibber - 25 km (10 km trek) 4 to 5 day trek.

Tashigang village - 3 homes - 4650 m - 15 family members, world’s highest polling booth.


There is also a homestay, not very well maintained, the purpose would only be to get awesome view. No restro, no cafe. We also notice some yaks on way to this village. The road is narrow, condition is bad.

Kaza - Piti Restaurant, we enjoyed local food at this restaurant.
