It's hard to be a Black Christian in America. As I edited this video I was convicted by the Holy Spirit of unwholesomeness, malicious talk and judgement. Although I did not express my frustration - during my actual labor and delivery - the way I did in this video, I still felt extremely upset during that life-changing time of my life. Please know that the feelings I expressed in this video were raw and real - the frustrations of a black woman. I am only human. It has been some months of reflecting on - and sometimes purposefully avoiding to remember - the ordeal that was my birth experience, for the SECOND TIME. My first birth was also traumatic - and, yes, it was with the same hospital. That's another story for another day. I did my very best to give benefit of doubt, to be optimistic and just brush off certain treatment as just being human. But I would lie if I said that I was not upset by the time I was discharged.

This is Part One of Our Birth Story. The story is too long we had to split it into two. In Part Two, we will share the actual delivery and the serious postpartum complications I faced.

Thank you for watching! We know that this was more of a serious video, and was a negative experience - but we still hope that you are blessed by it. Jesus still sits on the throne, and we believe our story is a testimony of God's faithfulness and protection - yet again! HE IS ABLE TO SAVE!
