She attributes this to be raised 'mainstream' for her childhood and limited representation of Deaf people in the media. Eventually, she attended a Deaf school and was able to learn about the powerful, yet underrepresented community she was born into.

You've seen her on hit T.V. shows like AMC's 'The Walking Dead,' 'New Amsterdam,' and even on the Broadway stage — where she snagged a Tony nomination. As her career continues to gain traction, Lauren hopes to bring authentic, deeper representation of the Deaf community to the big screen. Deaf people are more than Deaf, and it's time that the world sees that.
